Once again, the cause of this delay is none other than COVID-19
Filming for The Batman is currently on hiatus, after a crew member was diagnosed with COVID-19.
As soon as the filming of The Batman seemed to have restarted, it was already paused. Once again, the cause of this delay is none other than COVID-19, as mentioned in a statement from Warner Bros relayed by Vanity Fair "A member of the production of upcoming The Batman Movie has tested positive for COVID-19, and self-isolate in accordance with established protocols. " According to Vanity Fair sources , this member of the film crew is none other than Robert Pattinson. The interpreter of Bruce Wayne was reportedly diagnosed just days after filming resumed, which took place in studios outside London.
With this new deadline of an indefinite duration for the moment, it's hard not to imagine that the release date could be postponed again. All the more so as such a situation could happen again, even if the production of the film follows the sanitary measures in force. Even the films already completed see their release date postponed because of the current conditions which make the promotion of feature films, but especially their distribution very complicated. For now, The Batman , whose trailer continues to unveil plot clues , is due on movie screens in October 2021.
